Pools and pukes

Last Thursday we packed up our suits, towels, sunscreen, all the snacks and headed to the pool with grandma. Basically the boys’ best day ever. The actual pool was kind of a letdown (the kiddie pool was like a 9x9 shallow pool with nothing in it...lame!) but we had fun anyways.

Alllll about the snacks. Haha

About two hours after we got home Hunter puked a TON and then didn’t stop for 3 days. :( By Friday Ryan and I were puking too. It was so. miserable. Worst bug we’ve had in a while. Hunter also decided to keep things extra interesting and double up with an ear infection. The ped said it could be Crypto, but I try not to dwell too much on that fact because it just makes me feel really really gross. Luckily we’re on the mend and our Jake (who caught a milder case, probably from changing a million sick diapers) was super man running the household solo. It was a rough weekend, but we’re looking forward to a better end of the week!

On a happier note, we get to find out the gender of babe #3 on my birthday in less than two weeks! Best present ever.

Dirt

If there’s one thing that really makes my eye twitch, it’s dirt and dog hair on the floor. I hate the way it feels under my feet, and heaven help me if I see dog hair floating behind someone walking. Hand this mama a vacuum. Well, we’re basically living in dirt. I want (and love when) the boys play in it, and they do multiple times a day. We’re surrounded! Just- keep it out of my house. Strip on the porch if you have to. Just leave it outside if you love me at all.

Pretty much every meal ends with the kids in the dirt. They are so loving it! I’m pretty sure they permenantly have dirt in their ears.

We’ve been helping neighbors with outdoor projects and landscaping, and soaking up every ounce of summer!

Hunter crawled around in the fresh topsoil next door for a solid 20 mins, happy as a clam.

Let it be known that Jake does bath time after every dusty day and it’s probably the sweetest thing ever. I love watching him be a daddy.

Rocky Mouth trail

Sunday was a rough one. Ryan has been waking up at 6am every morning and it just kind of throws our whole day off. He was practically begging for a nap by 10am and church isn’t until 10:30, so we knew we were going to hate ourselves if we tried to take him. Jake stayed home and I went to sacrament with Hunter. Basically the rest of the day followed suit and I was one cranky mama by the afternoon. We decided to turn day around and go on a little hike. I’m so glad we did because we ended the weekend on a high note and had so much fun together!

It was short and sweet, I think a mile round trip. Perfect for the little ones. Ryan went up and down by himself and Jake carried Hunt. We would definitely go again!

There were some goofballs that got to the top about 15 mins after us and were playing music and vaping, which was super annoying. It kind of drove us out, but what can ya do. Good memories anyways!

Summer fun

The colder months have come and gone and we are officially in SUMMER!! We have moved into our new house and the backyard is basically a big patio and a heck of a lot of dirt. The boys are in heaven over it! Ryan sits out here and plays with his tractors and trucks for as long as we let him, and he begs to eat every meal “outside.” Fresh air and minimal clean up? Yes please!

The boys have also been loving their playroom, each other, and their daddy of course.

Last week was Pony Express Days in our not-so-little-anymore Eagle Mountain. Jake and I went on a rodeo date, we all went to the free family fun night, we popped into the carnival for some corn dogs, and went to the parade! Now that Ryan is a little older he enjoys everything just a little more. Cotton candy for days! Hunter is just happy to be.

We’ve had a great summer kickoff and can’t wait for the rest of the season. We have camping trips, vacations, pool trips, zoo trips, and all the fun planned. Here’s to lots of excitement and lots of sweat. ;)
