Photo Dump + Tangents

Hanging out in aunt Hannah's old bedroom, aka where Ryan crashes while we're at my parent's!

I realized I never shared a picture of the outside of the house with the roof fully sheeted? Here it is! They're putting up shingles TODAY (!!!!). I foresee lots of memories being made on that porch. It's huge.

It's almost too chilly to bathe Ryan on the patio, but we're ok with it cause that means fall is sneaking up!

Some more of his cute face. Can't help it.

I'll never get sick of those leg rolls/toes.

A couple more phone pics from Bear Lake. The cord to put my fancy camera's pics on the PC is in storage. Boo.

S'more credit to the husband. I tease him that I can make a better one, but let's be honest...definitely can't.

We met with the electrician at the house last night to go over lighting/outlets/etc, then we came home and ordered our fixtures! Stoked. Can't wait to share!!

House update and BRICK!!!

Guys. We can't stop driving down to see the house. Those poor framers probably think we're trying to keep a veeeeeery close eye on them but really we are just so stoked about the progress every day!

A look into the kitchen from the living

The laundry room/entry closet are framed!

Cute little window seat in one of the kid rooms

The furnace! Haha. This part doesn't interest me hardly at all, but maybe someone reading this will think it's super cool. ;)

They built some little steps from the garage into the mud room. I have big plans for this space!

Ryan is super chill as long as he can chew on something new and exciting. Like...a measuring tape!

It's all fun and games until he saturates it in drool then drops it in the dirt.

Remember how we found a brick we liked? Well...we went to a different place and saw some more options. The stuff we chose looks AWESOME! Our whole exterior look kind of went a different direction. Final answer cause we told the builder and he's working on an order. Eek! Here's a sneak peak.

Tomorrow we are meeting Brad (the builder) again to walk through and go over electrical stuff, and his cabinet guy is coming to make a layout of the kitchen. Things are moving right along! We'll be in there before we know it, and I seriously can't wait.

Beauty and the Beast

Jake and I finally snuck away for an evening alone! My parents gave us a gift certificate to see a play at Hale Theater last Christmas, so we used that and bought tickets for Beauty and the Beast. It was a really good play, but mostly we just enjoyed finally getting some time to ourselves.

As I've mentioned before, Ryan has not taken to a bottle. Because of that, it's been really stressful for me to leave him without worrying about him being hungry and refusing to eat. I've basically only left him for an hour here and there before this, so it was pretty monumental to be gone for 3+ hours. ;) I just nursed him before we left, and my mom gave him some veggies at dinner time. He did awesome and was happy until we walked in, then as soon as he saw me he burst into tears! Haha it was pretty sad but kinda sweet.

She sent me a picture during intermission. :)

I sure love my little buddy, but it was so nice to take a little break!

Plants and a Dinner Date

On Friday Jake took a half day off and we went to a nursery that's local to Eagle Mountain. It was owned by the nicest couple who seriously know their stuff. It was awesome to pick their brains about all the plants and learn a bunch of stuff about landscaping!
We have a fairly large garden area to fill in the front, so we had some choices to make. Here's some of the stuff we bought! We took advantage of their sale they had going on, and they're going to hang on to it until we move in. Again, super nice people!

Fun fact (and crappy picture). This plant is called Blue Mist and honey bees LOVE it. It was perfect for a spot by our porch, but I was all freaked out by having the bees so close. The guy at the nursery told us they were totally harmless, and literally rubbed his arm through a plant SWARMING with them. They all kind of scattered and flew around us, and then went right back to the plant. Soooo cool. We were sold!

We went to dinner at Yi Sushi when we were done. Ryan is going through a "happy screamer" phase, so that was fun....

Trusses For Real!

Ok, now we really do have trusses!! We visited the house today and saw lots of progress. The whole structure was there (minus 2 pop out windows that still need to be framed) and they had sheeted 90% of it. Hooooly cow it looks awesome. I get a little giddy thinking about it.

Back view!

The BEST view.

And in case you're wondering...its true, my kid rarely wears pants. ^^^^

We went to Lowe's to find exterior paint and brick to give to our contractor to match. I'm keeping the whole look a secret, but this is the brick we (most likely) chose. I love it! Can't wait to see it all up.

My fingers are crossed that once everything is up, we still love our choices!

Framing and Trusses!

The house is framed!! So excited about this stage. It's starting to open up and really come together. We took Heather down there to see it and I snapped some pictures.

This is the view out from standing in the living room. Check out those huge windows! And if you look reeeeally close you can see Utah Lake in the distance. There's a 20ft chunk of land that's protected across the street, so we'll never lose that view! Heck. Yes.

The trusses came on the 15th and they're working on putting them together. We went down expecting to see them up, but progress is progress! There's one itty bitty section up, above the bay window.

The plan is to go back on Friday, and our fingers are crossed that we'll have a roof structure!

Family Pictures 2016

We got our family pictures done a couple weeks ago and just got them back! Sooo in love with how our photographer captured our little family. Thanks to the amazing Angela Young Photography. She's super talented and was fun to work with! (And yes, I'm going to share all of them ;) )

Ryan made sure to not crack even the tiniest smile the whole time. He's pretty good at the stone cold look. Love my little boy!

I lie! There's a tiny one.
